Trainees will explore a variety of teaching strategies through workshops and exposure visits
Trainees will gain certification through mentoring & guidance
Trainees will prepare for job placement

Internship

Responsibilities of trainees: assist lead teachers; take initiative to plan, teach, and assess; follow school’s service rules; fulfill requirements of certifying institution
Responsibilities of mentors: to give helpful feedback on tasks; to observe lessons; to guide trainees to successfully fulfill requirements of certifying institutions

Assessment & certification

Examination by Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA)
1. Assessment is at 3 levels, depending on the trainees’ years of experience
2. E-portfolio tasks
3. Remotely proctored tests of 2.0-3.0 hours and of 200 questions related to the micro-credential
Assessment by Focus Teacher Training Centre
1. Portfolio of tasks
2. Classroom observations by mentor
3. 95% attendance throughout the course (i.e. workshops, lectures and internship)

Fees

Amount: Rs 5000 per micro-credential or Rs 25,000 for full certification + GST
Payment due dates: 5 Jun, 5 Sep, 5 Dec, 5 Mar

Calendar and timetable

Start & end dates:29 May 2020 to 15 April 2021
Internship timings: Mon to Thur 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Theory timings : Fridays and 3rd Saturdays 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
